OUTSTANDING FREEZER

I was apprehensive at first about the size. However, after I received this freezer, the size is perfect for a small family. Moreover, this model is great for garages. Where I live is extremely hot in the summers and very cool in the winters, so this freezer meets all of my expectations.

Very Easy to Set Up. After a short time running it reached 0 degrees F.
The temperature setting was easy to access on the front bottom of the freezer and has a light to tell you it is running without having to open the freezer.
When defrosting, also on the front bottom is the drain plug.

Product came without a back panel, when I called customer service they sent me the wrong part. When I called a second time, they told me the product isn't supposed to have a back panel, which seems funny since it's garage ready and the gaping whole would allow rodents to enter. There are also holes for screws Around the hole, which would indicate to me that there is supposed to be a back panel that just wasn't attached. I have no idea what is true, but I'm tired of trying to get in touch with customer service, so I finally just taped cardboard to the back. Pretty disappointing to have to do that to a brand new appliance.

It's a great freezer. I would have given it a 5 but it is missing the back panel. I called customer service, they were very nice and sent a panel, but not for my product. Speaking with someone that knows the products is difficult. Without the proper panel it's starting to form ice inside and I've only started using it about 2 mo. I'm very disappointed.

Nice sized freezer for a smaller family. I just got the 7 CF freezer as it was out of stock in a lot of places for quite awhile. Seems roomy enough for our needs. Looking forward to having additional freezer space.

Our extra refrigerator finally died and we decided to replace it with a chest freezer. After scouring through many web sites we chose this 7 cubic foot GE chest freezer mainly because we trust the GE brand. We have many GE products in our home.
The size of the freezer is plenty big enough for our needs. The shelves located at the top of freezer are very handy for smaller items reducing the necessity for digging through the freezer's contents to find those smaller items.
We love the fact that the freezer is equipped with rollers making it super easy to move around when necessary. It is very energy efficient unlike our old refrigerator so we are going to save a considerable amount of money every month in energy costs.
We set the freezer setting in the middle of the dial and the freezer temperature is 16 degrees F. That's plenty cold for us.
We look forward to many years of use!
We highly recommend this product.

Last freezer from a different brand died with just a month over a year's use. Come to find out it wasn't rated like this one "garage ready", meaning it could handle various temperatures. We bought this one. Very light to unload by myself and even though it's the same size as our previous one the way it's laid out has more room.

My Garage Ready Freezer is just what the doctor order! I love that it is compact enough to not take up a lot of space, but deep enough to store a great amount of food for a family of 4. They way I love ice cream and Italian ice cups and can now stock it up!! Calm down, I'll be purchasing veggies and meat too! (lol) This is a great product and the fact that it is garage ready, right off of my kitchen, LOVE IT!!

Pros: It's roomy. Its got two top sliding/removable bends, which allow for easy access to bottom stuff. It's got a front facing bottom drain (for occasional defrosting). It's got a nice hinged lid that stays open on its own when opening. It's got a light indicator in the front (bottom) to show it's working. It's got light duty wheels on one side, and leveling pegs on the other side, to help scoot around into position. It's got high ratings and it's super quiet!!!
What more could you want?
Cons: There's an access opening in the back, lower corner (where the cord comes out), that's (in my opinion) missing a cover. The cord is stuffed in that opening, to protect in shipping. Maybe the manufacturer thought by covering the opening, one might have trouble finding the cord?? That's just my opinion. There are 4-small screw holes on the edge, likely meant for that cover, but no cover. For me, it's a nonissue, as my freezer location is inside (Laundry Room). It may be that the manufacturer might of thought it wasn't needed , as I have read other reviews stating the same thing, however, if one plans to keep this in the garage, rodents could easily enter that opening, and make a nest near that warm compressor.
If, in the future, I have issues with this freezer, I reserve the right to revise my review, but I must say, I like this thing very much!

Does exactly what we need it to do. Runs well, and survives the extreme temps in our garage, hot & cold. Keeps everything frozen and haven't had to defrost it yet (been almost a year). It replaces a non "garage ready" unit from another manufacturer, so if you are keeping your freezer in a garage, I'd recommend this one, or another "garage ready" unit. The only thing missing is an interior light, but we use a tap light on the shelf above, and it works just fine. Overall, this unit is a powerhouse, does its job well, and I'd highly recommend it.
